You’ve got this girl- You are enough!

Dear daughter,

I cannot believe how quickly you are growing. I remember vividly being exactly your age and I still have memories of how it felt being your age, the joys and the pains, the fears and the victories.

I remember struggling with the one question – am I enough?

Am I smart enough, am I pretty enough, and I good enough, am I tall enough…. the list is endless.

I wish someone would have helped me answer those questions, but I hope I can answer them for you- YES YOU ARE!

You are perfect in every way – perfect for what you were made to be. The feelings of inadequacy and not being enough comes when you’re trying to run someone else’s race, but you don’t realise that for your particular race, you have all you need.

Dear daughter, please take the time to discover who you are…. then you’ll discover you are just enough.

I know the media, your teachers, your friends and sometimes even I try to  dictate to you what is acceptable for you to be like, and you might get discouraged when you feel you don’t measure up, but the only person that can tell you about you is the One that made you. And He says you are wonderfully made. That thing you consider a flaw might actually be what makes you uniquely you.

When the insecurities come and you are tempted to doubt your ability or your worth, say to yourself …”I’ve got this- I am enough”

love you endlessly
